M.E. Sprengelmeyer is political correspondent for the Rocky Mountain News. A 1989 graduate of Northwestern University, he has worked in the Rocky's Washington bureau since 2001, and in 2007 began chasing presidential contenders down the "Back Roads to the White House."
In 2002, he traveled with U.S. Marines in the war in Afghanistan and with the 101st Airborne Division during the initial invasion of Iraq in 2003. He also is a retired Wrigley Field usher, accordion player and former member of the rock band "News Hole."
