Chase Bank to close 15 WaMu branches
Published January 22, 2009 at 12:05 a.m.
Chase Bank will close 15 of the 40 Washington Mutual branches it acquired in Colorado last year when it salvaged the insolvent Seattle savings-and-loan.
The bank, part of J.P. Morgan Chase, will have 122 Colorado offices after it makes the move March 6. Affected employees will be offered jobs at the remaining Chase locations.
The bank would not release the list of closing locations because it hasn't finished notifying the customers at those branches, spokeswoman Mary Jane Rogers said.
The remaining WaMu branches will convert to Chase systems and signage in October.
