Denver Nuggets center Nene goes up for a shot surrounded by Oklahoma City players Friday in Oklahoma City. Nene had 27 points as Denver won the game 122-120.
OKLAHOMA CITY After beating cancer in 2008, Nene has learned to leave no questions unanswered when it comes to his health.
That's why he plans to see a doctor next week in Denver to make sure there are no major issues with his neck. "Just to see if it's OK," Nene said Friday. "That is my body, that is my instrument to work. I take care of my body."
Nene, a Comeback Player of the Year candidate after sitting out much of last season because of testicular cancer, took a hard fall Sunday in New York and missed one game because of a cervical strain. He has played the past two games but said he still feels a sharp pain in the middle of his back when he moves his head from side-to-side.
"I like to be loose," he said. "Now I feel tight."
