Published January 1, 2009 at 10:06 p.m.
After winning his 900th career regular-season game, Denver Nuggets coach George Karl recalled some of his favorite memories. Among them was clinching a playoff spot as a rookie coach after the Cleveland Cavaliers started 2-19 in 1984-85.
Karl said Lonnie Shelton and World B. Free hoisted him on their shoulders and carried him off the court.
"Lonnie could pick anybody up," Karl said. "He could pick up a house."
Etc.
* Forward Kenyon Martin is having a heck of a trip. He scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting Wednesday night and is averaging 15 points on 20-of-32 shooting in three games.
* Carmelo Anthony said his bruised right elbow still is bothering him, but he has no plans to miss more games. He sat out three last week in an attempt to let the elbow heal.
