OUTSIDE AURORA FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH -- Crystal Willis voted in her second election today. She was a little more prepared this time.

"I really didn't know too much about it in 2004," she said. "But I know more this time. We've sure got some shady people in office."

The studying up on issues was almost a waste. Willis cast a provisional ballot at the church, which has polling places for precincts 540, 542 and 544.

"I sure went through a hassle," said Willis, 35. "I did an address change with Motor Vehicle. But they still had me down at an address I was at four years ago when I was living with my mother."

She said getting a provisional ballot "is like taking a voice away from me."

But a volunteer poll watcher said election judges made the right decision because of resident's foul-up.

Willis, an unemployed single mom, said she was more concerned with candidates than issues.

"I"m just trying to make the world a better place for my children, to give them opportunities rich people can afford," she said.
