* Carrie Baird leads the All-Colorado volleyball team after helping lead Cherry Creek to an undefeated season and the Class 5A state championship. A senior outside hitter headed to the University of San Diego, Baird is joined on the team by Bruins teammate Gabi Dewberry, a 5-foot-8 senior who thrilled onlookers with her play at setter and right-side hitter.

"Last year was tough (missing the state tournament because of a sprained ankle)," Baird said. "It was nice just to be able to play in it this year, win league and beat Grandview, the defending champion, in the final match for our seniors."

Ariel Turner of Mountain Vista, an outside hitter headed to Purdue, and McCall Paynter of Grandview, a libero headed to Toledo, both repeat as All-Colorado selections, which are determined by the Rocky Preps staff, with input from coaches.

Derek Herbert of Fleming is the All-Colorado coach of the year. He has led the Wildcats to two consecutive Class A titles and 65 victories in a row.
