The sale rack, November 24

Published November 24, 2007 at 12:59 a.m.

Face it. Now that the turkey is gone and the in-laws are on a plane home, there's only one thing left to focus on: shopping. Yep. It's countdown time. A slew of events will spring you into the gift-giving season.

Want something unique for someone special? Find it at the Arapahoe Community College Clay and Jewelry Club holiday sale. Choose from one-of- a-kind jewelry and pottery pieces, such as mugs, goblets, plates, garden planters or holiday ornaments, all handmade by ACC students or instructors. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Half Moon on the first floor of ACC's main building, 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive, in Littleton. For more information, call Kathy Holt at 303-797-5948 or Randy Burns at 303-797-5866.

For a wide range of gift choices, try the Junior League of Denver's 28th Annual Holiday Mart. More than 150 retailers and artisans from across the country will converge on the Denver Merchandise Mart, 451 E. 58th Ave. Seasonal fanfare, including a champagne brunch, will help shoppers embrace the season, with proceeds benefiting JLD-supported programs, initiatives and nonprofit agencies.

"A Toast to the Holidays and Preview Shopping" kicks off the event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday with a brunch and fashion show by Harold's. Tickets are $60 in advance. Public shopping hours are: Thursday, 1-6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Dec. 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Dec. 2, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets for the Holiday Mart are $10 ($12 at door) or $25 for a multiday pass and are available online or in Denver-area King Soopers stores. For more information, visit jld.org or call 303-692-0270, Ext. 238.
