Original Shuttle Pack
Cargo carrier
Price: $90 and $110
Where you can get it: Web site
Business owners: Mike and Jennifer Latham
Location: Centennial
Tidbits: With biking, camping and hiking season right around the bend, the Tetris-like process of loading up the car soon will begin. Between tents, sleeping bags, bikes, gear and other outdoor paraphernalia, having leftover space may seem as likely as not hitting any westbound Interstate 70 traffic.
For the Lathams, self-described outdoor enthusiasts, this scenario was all too familiar, and it inspired them to create their weather-resistant, Cordura nylon shuttle pack cargo carrier, which is handsewn by the couple and local workers.
"The pack is universal, aerodynamic and wedge-shaped, allowing it to attach to any bike and car roof rack in a unique space," said co-owner Mike Latham. "There are also additional pockets for organization, which can be accessed from either side of the automobile."
Latham says the shuttle pack has a capacity of 41 liters and is about 20 inches square. Other features include Velcro enclosures, a carrying strap and availability in a variety of standard colors . Custom color combinations also are available.
