'PEN IS PENCILED IN
The Rockies bullpen was finalized Thursday with one left-hander other than closer Brian Fuentes - Jeremy Affeldt. Left-hander Tom Martin was placed on the disabled list because of a strained left groin. That means right- handers Ramon Ramirez and Manny Corpas, who had been contending for the final bullpen spot, will make the team.
ADJUSTMENTS
Starting pitchers Rodrigo Lopez and Brian Lawrence, and relievers Fuentes, Affeldt, LaTroy Hawkins, Corpas and Ramirez, remained in Tucson to pitch in a minor league camp game today. They had been scheduled for the exhibition game in Colorado Springs, but concerns about the weather led to a change in plans to make sure the pitchers get in their work.
"We still anticipate playing in Colorado Springs and we will have a representative lineup," manager Clint Hurdle said. "That is our Triple-A affiliate and we have a large fan base there that we feel an obligation to treat fairly."
HE SAID IT
"If you have other notions, it still comes down to pitching well to have those happen."
Hurdle, on Byung-Hyun Kim not wanting to pitch out of the bullpen.
