AUSTIN, Texas - Texas A&M's tight-lipped Billy Gillispie left Wednesday for Final Four activities in Atlanta, but increasing indications are that he will reject overtures from Arkansas and remain the Aggies basketball coach.
A&M regents were arriving for their regularly scheduled two-day meeting that includes a likely agreement with Gillispie.
Gillispie continued to decline to comment about interest from other schools. But Texas A&M's interim president, Dr. Eddie J. Davis, called The Bryan-College Station Eagle on Wednesday to say Gillispie informed him he planned to be back for his fourth season as A&M's coach.
"I talked to coach Gillispie (Wednesday) morning, and he told me that as far as he's concerned, he's the coach at Texas A&M," Davis told the paper.
