Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Yuma, has gotten hundreds of e-mails urging him to support a bill that would change the makeup of the state oil-and-gas commission.

Many writers are from Canada - Gardner jokes that's because the country stands to gain jobs if Colorado is hostile to the industry.

One e-mail was from Sigrid Delmotte - of Brussels, Belgium.

"Talk about constituent outreach," Gardner joked.

PUSHING HIS BUTTONS

"I'm so used to hitting red."

Gardner after repeatedly hitting the red or "off" button on his committee microphone, instead of green, which turns it on. Red buttons on the House floor signify a "no" vote.

HE DOESN'T KNOW JACK

Seen at the Capitol, again: Sen. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, helping Sen. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch, with his computer.

"Ted would like to whup me, but he can't because he needs me. I do all his tech work," Brophy joked.

"I'm computer-savvy," Harvey responded. "I just don't know what he knows."

He is Colorado's attorney general, but there was John Suthers, standing in line with the public.

The Republican politician was spotted Tuesday morning at the Capitol, getting a ticket to tour the newly opened dome. Suthers said he he had never seen it before.
