GAME DAY
Matt Holliday hit a home run off Arizona left-hander Dana Eveland in the Rockies' 13-9 loss to Arizona at Tucson Electric Park. Holliday struck out in his first two at-bats against Eveland. . . . Right-hander Josh Fogg gave up 11 runs (10 earned) in 3 2/3 innings. He also had two doubles and two RBI, including doubling home a run during a six-run first inning. . . . Catcher Chris Iannetta reached base five times, going 3-for-3 with two walks, one double, two runs and two RBI.
TWISTED
Right fielder Brad Hawpe rolled his left ankle during fielding drills at Hi Corbett Field and was scratched from the lineup against Arizona. The injury is not believed to be serious, and he will be re-evaluated today.
Catcher Yorvit Torrealba, who sprained his right ankle Monday, iced the injury Tuesday morning, but he was able to play catch. He is expected to be on the active roster when the season begins Monday. If not, the Rockies most likely would bring back Alvin Colina, leaving Geronimo Gil at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
IN RELIEF
Right-hander Byung-Hyun Kim got the call in relief, putting an end to Arizona's six-run rally in the fourth inning by coming on to get Chris Snyder to fly out. Kim worked a scoreless fifth, but in the sixth inning, he gave up one run on two singles, a balk and two walks.
"In that (final inning of work), his sequence got out of sorts, but (before that) was what we think he can do to help us," manager Clint Hurdle said. "That's the best role he fits in to help this team."
HE SAID IT
"It wasn't that bad a pitch, down and away, and he rifled it out to right-center. He has top-shelf power."
Hurdle, on Holliday's home run.
