Douglas County sheriff's deputies are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found in a Highlands Ranch apartment.

About 1 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a welfare check request from friends of a woman who said they hadn't heard from her in several days.

When deputies entered the woman's apartment, they found the two bodies.

Authorities said in a news release that they believe "there is no danger to the community."

No other details of the incident or the identities of the deceased were released Tuesday.
