Man dies after truck falls from cliff

Published March 26, 2007 at midnight

A 24-year-old man from Franktown died early this morning when his truck plunged 400 feet off a cliff onto Castlewood Canyon Creek.

Terry Walker was driving a black 1995 Chevy 3500 pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle in the southbound lane of Castlewood Canyon road in the Castlewood State Park about 1:55 a.m., according to the State Patrol. The truck ran off the left side of the road and fell to the bottom of the canyon.

Walker was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected when the truck went off the cliff, according to investigators.

The State Patrol is looking to determine if speed or impairment played a part in the crash.
