AMENDING CLOTHES

During debate on a plumber bill Thursday, Sen. Mike Kopp said he had planned to amend it to require plumbers to "wear higher pants, a belt and suspenders to avoid plumber crack at all times."

"Now, that's consumer protection," the Littleton Republican said, with a laugh.

NOT REALLY

"I've called you all here. You all know Scott McInnis has gotten out of the race. I have an announcement."

House Minority Leader Mike May, R-Parker, having a little fun at the start of a caucus meeting. As expected, the discussion wasn't about the U.S. Senate race but Amendment 41.

ALTRUISM HONORED

A Greeley lawmaker was honored with an award from the Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of Colorado for his community service.

Rep. Jim Riesberg, D-Greeley, received the Joseph Award, presented annually to a "person of influence who selflessly works to feed the hungry and serve the poor."

OOPS, THERE GOES ANOTHER MILLION-DOLLAR SPREE

Erps: Nickname of the new computer system at the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Oops: What Sen. Peter Groff, D-Denver, says the system should have been called. The system has had its share of problems since it was unveiled in November.
