Aurora girl wounded in shooting

Aurora police are investigating a shooting today at 9:37 a.m. in which a 16-year-old girl was hit in the upper torso.

She was in the parking lot of the Woodridge Apartment complex in the 1200 block of South Uvalda Street at the time of the shooting.

Detectives are seeking assistance in identifying four men and two vehicles involved in the shooting.

They are:

• A 1990s dark blue or green Volkswagen, possibly a Jetta, with a moon roof. The driver was described as a light-skinned black man dressed in dark clothing with an Afro hair style. He possibly was armed with a handgun.

A passenger in the front seat was described as a female, braided hair, caramel colored skin.

• The second vehicle was a 1980s black Monte Carlo with a red racing strip on the driver's door. The driver was a black male, late teens or early 20s, 5-feet-9, thick build.

After the shooting, the suspects left northbound on South Uvalda Street.

No motive has yet been established for the shooting.
