BARNYARD HUMOR
House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, D-Denver, is known for his quick wit.
Some of Wednesday's gems:
"I think it's fair to say that, whereas, there are only a few farmers and ranchers among us, all of the members have contributed to the production of fertilizer in Colorado."
Romanoff, during a discussion on a resolution honoring "National Agriculture Day."
"Further unwarranted comparisons?"
Romanoff, after Rep. Terrance Carroll, D-Denver, quipped that presidential contender Barack Obama "reminds me of myself."
WHAT NOT TO WEAR IN THE SENATE
Sen. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch, usually sports a white button-down dress shirt, for which he offers no apologies.
"I'm white," Harvey deadpanned.
He then looked at Sen. Ken Kester, R-Las Animas, who was wearing a salmon colored shirt and tie.
"It glows," Harvey complained.
"He's so plain," Kester said, dismissively.
THEY'RE KERRSED
2 Number of state representatives named Kerr. Jim Kerr is a Littleton Republican, and Andy Kerr is a Lakewood Democrat. They often get credited - or blamed - for the other's actions.
"It's a reo-kerr-ing nightmare," Jim Kerr joked.
