The Rocky Mountain News has won eight awards - six in design and two in photography - in the Society for News Design's annual international competition.

Christine Birch was honored with two Awards of Excellence in the feature page design category for food pages in newspapers of 175,000 circulation or more in the tabloid format.

Dean Lindoerfer received two news page design awards in the tabloid format.

Julie Lovell won a feature page design award for entertainment pages in the broadsheet format.

Amy Speer was honored with a sports page design award in the tabloid format.

In photography, Chris Schneider received an Award of Excellence in the single photo category of planned general news.

Evan Semon won an award in the same category.
