Christopher King, the Boulder Valley School District's current deputy superintendent, was chosen Tuesday to succeed Superintendent George F. Garcia.

King was hired as principal of Boulder High School in 1997. In 2001, he was named assistant superintendent, and in 2005, deputy superintendent.
