Broadway star LuPone set for Opera benefit

Revered Broadway star Patti LuPone will perform at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House on Nov. 3 in a gala concert celebrating Opera Colorado's 25th anniversary, performing a mix of Broadway, Hollywood and opera selections with piano accompaniment.

A high-energy, charismatic performer, LuPone has starred in such Broadway hits as "Sweeney Todd," "Evita" and "Sunset Boulevard." This season, she sang in Kurt Weill's "The Rise and Fall of Mahagonny" with Los Angeles Opera. Movie credits include "Driving Miss Daisy," "State and Main" and "Wise Guys." Among her TV guest shots are appearances on "Will and Grace" and "Ugly Betty," in addition to numerous concert performances on PBS.

Gala packages, including cocktails, dinner and a post-performance reception at the Ellie, are on sale. Prices range from $400 to $25,000 for a table. Single concert tickets will go on sale this summer, with sale date and prices to be determined. Information: 303-698-2334.
