Arvada man arrested for vehicular assault

A 21-year-old Arvada man has been arrested in connection with a traffic crash, accused of traveling more than 70 mph when he collided with another car at Baseline Road and Inca Parkway in Boulder on Jan. 21.
Bryan Rathke was held for investigation of two counts of vehicular assault after turning himself in to Boulder authorities.
According to police, Rathke was speeding when he broadsided broadside a Subaru Legacy, propelling the engine of the Subaru into a nearby yard.
A passenger in Rathke's vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle both suffered serious bodily injury from the crash.
As a result of the traffic investigation, three passengers in the
Subaru, an 18-year-old and two 17-year-olds, were issued summonses for
being minors in possession of alcohol. All three are Fairview High
School students.
