A Larimer County detention deputy revived an inmate found hanging from a sheet in the shower room of the housing area last Friday, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office reported today.

Information officer Eloise Campanella said the inmate was treated at the scene and has since been placed in an observation cell.

At the time the deputy was in charge of 60 inmates in two housing areas, 14 of which were to be checked every 15minutes, and 12 who needed to be checked at least every 30 minutes.

When the deputy called for assistance, other deputies were preparing search another pod area after a women in the jail was caught with a number of contraband medications.

It is believed the woman inmate brought the pills back with her from a state facility, Campanella said.
