Fire cleanup cancels Bear Creek classes

Published March 19, 2007 at midnight

Classes will be canceled tomorrow and Wednesday at Bear Creek High School due to damage caused by a fire that broke out Saturday night.

The fire was discovered about 11 p.m. in the art room, but was contained to one wing of the building.

Cleanup efforts and a heavy smoke odor are keeping school officials from re-opening.

Students will now be required to attend classes on April 2 and April 27 to make up for the classroom days lost due to the fire. These were originally scheduled as days off for students, but working days for teachers.
