The Broncos released defensive end Courtney Brown on Monday, ending his injury-marred stint with the team.

Brown, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2000 NFL draft, has been troubled by injuries his entire career. He played 14 games in two seasons with Denver, finishing with 38 tackles and two sacks.

He missed all of the 2006 season after surgery on his left knee.
