Anti-war rallies scheduled for today

Published March 19, 2007 at midnight

As the U.S. enters the fifth year of the war in Iraq, a number of anti-war rallies are scheduled around the state.

The Greeley and University of North Colorado Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom will hold a rally from 12:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. today on the east side of the Weld County Courthouse.

Supporters want to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the war and express desires for peace.

Anyone interested should make a sign or banner to share their feelings on the war.

In Estes Park, a community candlelight peace vigil will be held in Bond Park in downtown Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. to honor those who have died and to call for a swift end to the war.
