Simons: Time's running out for deals

Get in to Consignment Home Furnishings while the getting's good. The lease is up April 15 for this 9,000-square-foot purveyor of new, used and antique home furnishings at 2353 S. Havana St., 303-751-6619.
But, says owner Lee Crawford, ever since the word got out, "things have just been flying out of here."
The store is an authorized dealer of Howard Miller clocks. "They're not selling at lower prices anywhere," says Crawford. One clock designed to retail for $4,000 is $1,500. The store is open noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The streets are finally free of ice. Now all you need is a bicycle. A sure harbinger of spring is the sale of Barlow Tyrie furniture at Birdsall & Co., 1540 S. Broadway, 303-722-2535. The 16th annual sale runs through March 25 at the garden-supply shop.
This year, Colorado's only authorized Barlow Tyrie dealer has moved beyond garden furniture to offer everything in the manufacturer's catalog. During the sale, it's available at the same prices that interior designers and landscapers pay, 30 percent less than Birdsall's regular price.

Lovers of lace and collectible dolls will want to hit the sale Monday through March 31 at Lace Plus, 18851 E. Hampden Ave., Suite 187, Aurora, 303-627- 4444. Discontinued lace runners, doilies and tablecloths in the Heritage Lace pattern and framed artwork are half-price; dolls, china tea sets and tapestries are reduced by 20 percent to 50 percent; and various stuffed animals are $1 to $5.

Pieces brought to Denver by 150 antiques dealers from throughout the U.S. will be featured at the spring edition of the World Wide Antique Show, which runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 24 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 25 at the Denver Merchandise Mart, on East 58th Avenue just east of I-25.
