WYOMING EYES DUNLAP

Nuggets assistant Mike Dunlap said he has been formally contacted by Wyoming regarding its coaching vacancy. Dunlap anticipates taking two days from Wednesday's call to decide whether he's interested in pursuing the job.

Dunlap said after Thursday's shootaround he had not been formally contacted regarding Colorado State's opening. He said Tuesday that "on CSU, informally somebody has reached out" to him.

"Personally, I think he wants to stay in pro ball," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "But we will work with him, and he is working with us (on possible college jobs) and he will continue to do that."

HE SAID IT

"I had one uncle named Bubba and one Chuck and both wanted to nickname me."

Allen Iverson, Nuggets guard, on his childhood nickname, "Bubba Chuck."

UPSET BY OUSTER

Karl was saddened by Wednesday's firing of Bucks coach Terry Stotts, who served as his assistant in Seattle and Milwaukee. He plans to call him today.

"I don't think he's done a bad job," Karl said of Stotts, who was replaced by Larry Krystkowiak. "I think he's just been dealt bad cards (due to injuries). . . . The people in Milwaukee know Terry's a good coach that got bad circumstances."
