Saunders gets nod for Rockies PA announcer
Published March 16, 2007 at midnight
The new "Voice of Coors Field" will be 25-year-old Reed Saunders of Westminster, 850-KOA radio announced this morning.
Saunders was vying for the job with Jim Hudson, 37, of Englewood, and Conor McGahey, 22, of Denver.
The public address announcer position was chosen through an audition process that included 18 hopefuls competing in front of their families, friends and fans earlier this week at the Sports Column in downtown Denver.
Rockies fans had 48 hours to log on and vote for their favorite
announced. Saunders will take the place of Alan Roach, who is stepping
down.
