Kopp reports that his wife, Kimberly, and little Pete are doing fine. They showed off their son at the state Capitol on Wednesday.
SEEING THE LIGHT
"I believe this is the 'Papa's come around to Mama's way of thinking' (amendment)."
Buffie McFadyen, D-Pueblo West, House Transportation Committee chairwoman, teasing Dan Gibbs, D-Silverthorne, on his compromise bill to boost penalties on truck snow-chain violators while finding $2.5 million to expand safe truck chain-up areas. McFadyen put the bill "in Purgatory" until Gibbs addressed truckers' safety.
5TH TIME'S THE CHARM
4 Number of years an emergency-contraception bill has been introduced and failed in Colorado. The measure, which requires hospitals to tell rape victims about the morning-after pill to prevent pregnancy, was signed into law by Gov. Ritter on Thursday.
TRY AGAIN, FOLKS
The wives of three House Republicans - Reps. Rob Witwer, of Genesee; Ray Rose, of Montrose; and Spence Swalm, of Centennial- received phone calls from the Democratic Party recently seeking a $100 contribution to defeat Republicans.
Witwer said, "They're either trying to mess with our heads or they're working off a really bad list."
