Methamphetamine, cocaine, firearms and explosive devices were found in a Grand Junction home located less than 600 feet from a middle school, the Grand Junction Sentinel reported this morning.

Four people were arrested Wednesday and booked on a multitude of felony charges. They were identified as Kelly Anderson, 41, Nicholas Myers, 22, Michael Nilsen, 26 and Brittney Oliver, 19.

Grand Junction police executed a search warrant on the home where they reportedly found 2 grams of methamphetamine, a video surveillance monitor, police scanner, two rifles, two handguns, an explosive device wrapped in black tape with an exposed fuse, plastic bag containing marijuana and various drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest affidavit.

In one bedroom they found a plastic bag containing cocaine and a pair of brass knuckles, the affidavit said.

In another bedroom there was a loaded handgun in an open safe, multiple bags of meth, marijuana, several large knives, detonating cord, and drug paraphernalia.

The Sentinel reported that officers also found an explosive device, various drug paraphernalia containing meth in the trash outside the house, as well as surveillance equipment attached to the exterior of the house.

"The subjects living at this residence have loaded firearms for their protection, surveillance equipment to identify subjects approaching the residence and scanners to monitor police traffic," an officer wrote in the affidavit. "All of these items are commonly located with subjects that are selling illegal substances."
