Volunteer day to honor hit-and-run victim
Published March 15, 2007 at midnight
Friends of Becca Bingham have organized a memorial volunteer day to honor what would have been her 40th birthday Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Project C.U.R.E.'s Littleton Sorting Center, 8020 Southpark Circle.
Bingham and her two children, Macie 4, and Garrison, 2, were killed by a hit-and-run driver near Larimer Square on Nov. 10.
"Becca was a nurse and had a heart for orphans, the aids problem in Africa, and the poor," said Tami Snowden, a friend of the family. "I thought something like this in her honor might be a very special way to remember her."
Friends are gathering to remember Bingham and her family as they sort donations of medical supplies into categories for delivery to hospitals in developing nations.
Doug Jackson, President/CEO of Project C.U.R.E. will be there to talk about the impact that their efforts will have on the people in Africa and other parts of the developing world.
