SOME LIKE IT HOT
There are hot chilies - and then there are really, really hot chilies.
Credit New Mexico State University professor Paul Bosland for discovering the hottest chili on record: the Bhut Jolokia, which comes from northeastern India and translates as "ghost chili."
Bosland sees the chile's future as a possible food additive, not some- thing you'd pop into your mouth - at least not on purpose.
1,001,304 is the Bhut Jolokia's hotness measure in Scoville heat units. That's nearly twice as hot as the Red Savina, the variety it replaces in the record books. An average jalapeño is 10,000 Scoville units.

DEPUTIES GOING BALD
Being bald has its benefits and on Friday, Douglas County sheriff deputies will be shaving their heads to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Former Broncos stars Leroy Mitchell, Doug Widell and Ken Lanier will be in attendance to help the benefit.
St. Baldrick's raises money and awareness globally for childhood cancer research. This event will honor Isabella Ackerson, daughter of Investigator Niles Ackerson of the sheriff's office. She lost her battle with cancer at age 6 months. The event will be at 11 a.m. in the jury assembly room in the Robert A. Christensen Justice Center at 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock.
FREE WHEELS
Got stuff to move but your wheels aren't big enough to handle the load?
If you're in Aspen, Snowmass Village or Basalt, just sign up for the community truck. It's free.
Real estate broker Toby Munk bought an F-350 flatbed truck he is willing to lend to anyone 21-75 years old who can produce a driver's license and proof of insurance. Users pay for the gas.
"My phone's been ringing off the hook," Munk said Monday.
