Former psychotherapist faces sexual abuse of child
Published March 13, 2007 at midnight
Donald Ellsworth Fish, 67, a former psychotherapist who was sentenced in January for sexually assaulting three developmentally disabled female patients, now faces a charge of sexually abusing a child.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports that Fish was sentenced to one year in the Larimer County Detention Center followed by six years of sex offender intensive supervision after pleading to charges of sexual assault on an at-risk adult, and third-degree assault.
He entered an Alford plea allowing him to take advantage of a plea agreement without admitting guilt. During his sentencing hearing, Fish apologized for the confusion he caused the women but denied the allegations, the Coloradoan reported.
Now Fish faces one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust pattern of abuse.
Fish's license to practice psychotherapy was suspended during the
last case, but Colorado Division of Registration records do not show
whether his license has been revoked.
