Police warn of 'cable guy' in Highlands Ranch
Published March 12, 2007 at midnight
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is warning Highlands Ranch residents to be on the lookout for a man who claims to be with Comcast and is at the home to pick up a cable box.
Sheriff David Weaver said one such incident occurred at 9 p.m. March 7 on Pepperwood Lane when a man came to the door saying he was there to pick up a cable box, but the resident wasn't having problems and didn't let him in.
They said he was not wearing a uniform and carried brochures that appeared to be photocopies with the name COMCAST on the top.
The man, a white male about 5-feet-10, medium build with brown hair, was driving a four-door late 1990s green compact car, possibly a Honda Accord.
If you believe you have been contacted by this person in a similar situation, you are asked to call the Sheriff's Office non-emergency number at 303-660-7500.
