A LITTLE BEE BUZZ

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This little bee has been buzzing in our Extra! ear all day.

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Just can't shake it, so we may as well let the bee be and let it do its own buzzing.

Buzz buzz buzz buzz, buzz buzz buzz buzz!

OK, we'll have to translate. It says to break out your dictionaries, it's time for the Colorado State Spelling Bee! It's an event, Extra! would like to add, that is sponsored by our powers that be (and Bee), the Rocky Mountain News.

And, just maybe, little green men . . . er, leprechauns, will offer up a bit o' St. Paddy's Day luck, as the event will be held Saturday at the Colorado Convention Center.

Now, sharpen your pencils. We're taking a little spelling test. Find the misspelled words below, courtesy of the Scripps National Spelling Bee consolidated word list. No cheating now! (Answers below.)

Sen. Peter Culig finally wins on daylight saving

Sen. Peter Culig Jr., D-Pueblo, came up for daylight and got it. After rejecting Culig's periodic attempts to pass a daylight-saving time for years, the Colorado Senate gave its approval to his latest version. If the House of Representatives concurs, all clocks in the state will be advanced one hour at 2 a.m. on the last Sunday in April.
