CHINA'S CELL-PHONE EXPLOSION

600 million people in China will use cell phones by 2010, according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency, citing the Ministry of Information Industry. The number of users this year should reach 520 million, up from 460 million in 2006.

Of note: Xinhua said the number of Chinese using the Internet will top 200 million, accounting for 15 percent of the country's population of 1.3 billion.

HENDRIX LAWSUIT

Jimi Hendrix's family filed a federal lawsuit over the use of the guitar legend's name to market a brand of vodka. The family claims in the lawsuit filed Tuesday that companies owned by Seattle businessman Craig Dieffenbach used trademarked material to market Hendrix Electric Vodka and other products. The vodka is packaged in purple-tinted bottles and has Hendrix's face and signature above the label.

YOUTUBE VIDEOS ANGER TURKS

A Turkish court ordered access to YouTube's Web site blocked Wednesday after a prosecutor recommended the ban because of videos allegedly insulting the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
