Protect ID, shred documents

Published March 8, 2007 at midnight

The Northglenn Police Department, partnered with Iron Mountain information protection service, is sponsoring a free "shred your old documents" day tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The shredding truck will be at the police department’s west parking lot at 11701 Community Center Drive. It is equipped with a video system so you can watch your documents being shredded.

If you can’t make it then, secured bins have been set up at the location through Sunday. All you do is place your old documents in the secured bins and Iron Mountain will pick them up and shred all the documents on Monday.

Shredding old documents that contain personal information is the best way to keep from becoming a victim of identity theft.
