Evergreen student charged in school fire

Published March 8, 2007 at midnight

A 17-year-old former student at Evergreen High School faces arson and criminal mischief charges in a fire at the school earlier this week.

The fire, set in the boys’ locker room, was confined to three lockers but forced the temporary evacuation of the school, said Jacki Kelley, spokeswoman for the Jefferson County sheriff’s office.

The suspect has been booked and released, Kelley said.
