'Le Corsaire' opens ballet season

Colorado Ballet's 2007-08 season in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House will open Oct. 5 with a nine-performance run of the full-length Le Corsaire.
Known for its flamboyant pas de deux, this colorful work will be presented in a restaging by Eldar Aliev, balletmaster at Boston Ballet.
The remainder of the season includes revivals of Dracula (5 performances; Oct. 25-20), The Nutcracker (24; Nov. 24-Dec. 24) and Coppelia (8; Feb. 23-March 2), plus a Repertory Series program with Antony Tudor's The Leaves are Fading, Lar Lubovitch's Smile With My Heart, and a new work by Dwight Roden (seven performances; March 15-23, 2008).
In addition, Colorado Ballet and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance will co-present the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre at the Ellie on April 4-6 next year in celebration of that company's 50th anniversary. Single tickets go on sale July 15. Information: 303-837-8888.
