4th teen arrested in slaying of woman

BOULDER - An 18-year-old man has been jailed in connection with the slaying of a Lafayette mom, a crime police now believe may have been committed almost four weeks ago.

Lafayette police arrested Jared Sajal Guy, 18, on Saturday on suspicion of accessory to murder after the fact, a felony punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000.

Lafayette police found the decaying body of Linda Juergens on Feb. 28 in the garage of her home at 705 W. Brome Place in the Beacon Hill subdivision of Lafayette. The Boulder County coroner reported that she died of multiple stab wounds in the neck.

Neighbors reported that the music coming from the home had been loud for the past couple of weeks and that during that time, the normally open garage door had been closed.

Police initially arrested three teens, including Juergens' daughter, Tess Damm, 16, and are holding them in the Boulder County Juvenile Detention Facility. The other two in custody are Tess Damm's reported boyfriend, Bryan Kabin Grove, 17, and a friend, Jared Smith, 17.

According to court documents, Guy's alleged crime was committed between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8.

In Colorado, a person is an accessory to a crime if he or she intends to hinder, delay or prevent police from discovering or arresting a person who committed a crime.

Guy appeared before Judge Kristina B. Hansson at the Boulder County Jail's courtroom Monday. Bail was set at $500,000. He was unable to post it. Hansson told Guy to have no contact with witnesses in the case.

Guy and the other three teens will appear Wednesday morning in Judge Lael Montgomery's courtroom to hear charges in the case.
