Injury wreck closes I-225

At least three people were -seriously injured in a two-car accident on Interstate 225 early Sunday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

A Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling northbound rear-ended a Ford Expedition around 4 a.m. The accident closed the northbound lanes until 8:35 a.m.

Seven people were in the PT Cruiser. One passenger was ejected. All had injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

The driver of the PT Cruiser was identified by Trooper Gilber Mares as Angela M. Reed, 22, of Denver.

Reed was taken to Denver Health Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Denver resident Sun Chon, 37, the driver of the Expedition, was taken to the Medical Center of Aurora South.

The accident occurred when the Expedition slowed down because a car in front of it got a flat tire, according to the State Patrol.
