Crush kickoff
Published March 5, 2007 at midnight
NUMBERS GAME
66 straight games Crush receiver Damian Harrell has scored at least one touchdown, an Arena Football League record. Harrell caught eight passes for 95 yards and three touchdowns.
SLOW START
The Crush's special teams weren't very special.
It allowed the Rampage to average 23.2 yards on five kickoff returns and averaged 9.7 yards on its own four kickoff returns.
Grand Rapids kicker Brian Gowins went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts, and the Crush's Jason Ball had one field-goal attempt blocked and missed another.
After scoring its final touchdown, the Crush botched an onside kick. It was offsides and the ball also went out of bounds, giving Grand Rapids possession and preventing an opportunity for a winning touchdown or field goal.
DEFENSIVE LEADERS
Rashad Floyd led the Crush with 10 total tackles, and Chris Snyder recovered a fumble that was Colorado's lone takeaway.
HE SAID IT
"These guys are playmakers. We just didn't grab these guys off the street. They did some great things."
John Dutton, Crush quarterback, on the team's new receivers, Willie Quinnie, above right, and Arvada West High School graduate Brad Pyatt, above left, who combined for 12 catches and two touchdowns.
