A 23-year-old woman pleaded guilty Friday to child abuse resulting in the death of her 14-month-old child last year.

Michelle Pickett was charged with causing the death of her baby, Audrina Montoya, who died after she was left in a scalding hot bathtub. The family, including a 2-year-old son, lived in west Denver at Mercy Housing's Decatur Place in the 1100 block of Decatur Street.

Pickett faces 16 to 35 years in prison when she is sentenced April 27.
