Mike Piazza is in camp with the Athletics as a designated hitter, so he did not report with pitchers and catchers. While manager Bob Geren said Piazza will be invited to sit in on pitchers' meetings, he does not intend to have Piazza in catching gear. He wants to keep Piazza's knees as healthy as possible for baserunning.
