EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Vladimir Radmanovic's snow job will cost him some cold cash.
The Lakers fined Radmanovic $500,000 on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reported, for violating his contract by snowboarding, which led to a separated right shoulder.
Radmanovic got hurt Feb. 17, during the All-Star break. He is expected to miss two months.
Radmanovic admitted he lied when he told the Lakers he fell on a patch of ice while walking.
"I made a mistake and obviously there's a price for that mistake," he said. "They came up with a number. I think it's fair for what I did. I just want to move forward and try to get healthy."
WADE DECISION ON HOLD: Heat guard Dwyane Wade was scheduled to have specialist Dr. James Andrews examine his dislocated left shoulder, but severe weather kept Andrews from making the trip from Birmingham, Ala., to South Florida. Andrews' will make the trip today.
Wade is deciding between rehabilitation or season-ending surgery.
ETC: Trail Blazers president and general manager Steve Patterson abruptly resigned after owner Paul Allen refused to renew his contract. Tod Leiweke, chief executive officer of the Seattle Seahawks, will take over while a full-time replacement is found. . . . 76ers rookie forward Rodney Carney has a torn rotator cuff and labrum in his right shoulder, but the injury will not require surgery.
