JEFFERSON COUNTY Colorado 93 is closed between Colorado 72 and Colorado 128 for a fatal crash that took place around 5:30 a.m. today.
The state patrol reports two vehicles smashed into one another near Rocky Flats after one apparently lost control on icy pavement and spun in front of the other.
Strong winds and light snow are making driving dangerous on the highway and throughout the foothills this morning.
The Colorado Department of Transportation reports that U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass is closed for adverse weather conditions, and chains are required for big rigs at the Eisenhower Tunnel.
The weather is predicted to improve through the weekend and early
next week with gradual warming.
