The Adams County Sheriff's Office issued an alert for a violent sexual predator who has been seen in the area of West 64th Avenue and Federal Boulevard.

c Cook, 42, is wanted on a Jan. 25 warrant out of Denver for failure to register as a sex offender.

On Feb. 21, the Adams County Community Resource Team found a large amount of copper wire in the process of being stripped along the Clear Creek Trail system between Pecos Street and Federal. Nearby they found some of Cook's belongings in a makeshift camp, including his Colorado identification card and Social Security card.

Cook, who is listed as a violent sexual predator from Maine, is described as a white male, 5-foot-9, 230 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
