Poacher of deer being sought

Published March 1, 2007 at midnight

State Division of Wildlife officers are asking for help in solving the poaching of a buck deer east of Keenesburg over the weekend of Nov. 18 and 19, 2006.

The killing took place off Weld County Road 18, but no additional information was made available.

"Concerned citizens are truly our eyes and ears in many situations because wildlife officers can’t be everywhere at once. We really appreciate the help," said district wildlife manager John Koehler.

"No piece of information is too small. If you reach a voice mail message please leave a return number so that an officer can speak with you directly. Your name and number will not be released."

Anyone who has information is asked to call 303-906-7870 or the Division's Operation Game Thief at 1-800-332-4155. A substantial cash reward is offered for information leading to an arrest or a citation being issued in the illegal killing.
