Mad hatter

Sunday's Oscar fashions once again had style-watchers complaining that celebrities play it too safe on the red carpet. If only they would look to the recent Paris haute couture shows for guidance. Known for outrageous, edgy and dramatic designs, last week's French collections for fall included a rock 'n' roll-themed show from American Jeremy Scott, as well as elaborately huge hats from the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano.

Best of the babies
