U.S. home prices rise a bit

U.S. home prices increased only slightly in the second quarter of 2007, according to the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight's second-quarter House Price Index released Thursday.
Prices nationally in the second quarter of 2007 were 3.2 percent higher than they were in the same quarter of 2006, the lowest annual price change since the 1996-1997 period.
In Colorado, home prices were up 2.95 percent during the same period.
Home prices in the Denver-Aurora area increased 0.76 percent in the second quarter, compared with a year earlier.
Prices in Boulder rose 2.3 percent.
Over five years, prices in Denver were up 13.38, and in Boulder they were up 15.5 percent.
